Mashed potato with steamed chicken patties

40 minCooking time from 2 yAge 3 child portionsServings

Possible allergens: Dairy, oats

Ingredients

  • 250 g minced chicken
  • ½ onion (grated)
  • 1 tbsp oats
  • 3 potatoes
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • 1 tsp butter

Method

  1. Mix the mince with the onion and oats and shape small patties.
  2. Steam them, or cook covered in a little water, for 20 minutes.
  3. Boil the peeled potatoes and mash with warm milk and butter.
  4. Serve the patties with the mash and fresh cucumber.

Note for parents: Steaming is a good way to make soft, low-fat meals.

Do not give children aged 2–4 small, hard, round foods (grapes, cherries, nuts) whole — they are a choking hazard. Introduce honey, nuts and other allergens in small amounts. If your child has special dietary needs, consult a doctor.
