Possible allergens: Wheat (gluten)

Ingredients

  • ½ cup couscous
  • ½ cup boiling water or stock
  • 1 small carrot
  • ½ courgette
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Method

  1. Chop the carrot and courgette finely and simmer in a little water for 5–7 minutes.
  2. Pour boiling water over the couscous, cover and leave 5 minutes.
  3. Fluff with a fork, stir in the vegetables and olive oil.
  4. Add some chopped chicken if you like.

Note for parents: If you use stock, there's no need for extra salt.

Do not give children aged 2–4 small, hard, round foods (grapes, cherries, nuts) whole — they are a choking hazard. Introduce honey, nuts and other allergens in small amounts. If your child has special dietary needs, consult a doctor.
